I enjoy watching sports and sometimes someone great comes along in a sport like Micheal Jordan or Kobe Bryant. I was always amazed when I watched them because they could do things that no one else could do. Their skills seemed so advanced and so far ahead of their competition that it was like they were from the future and it would take years for the other players to catch up with them.
It is fair I think to say they raised the bar to another level. And in a figurative sense they play ball in the past, like others would play ball in the future. Their moves and their skills are the ones that all good players would have in the future, but they had them then, in the past.
They were the future and the rest of basketball was moving towards their skill level. They are metaphorically “the place where the ball is moving”.
@theycallmedan likes to say; “Steemit is where the ball is going.”
What does that mean to me?
I feel like Steem and Steemit are decentralized blockchain and social media platform, respectively which have outperformed their peers, raised the bar, and moved the ball to a place that their competitors are going to have to go to, to stay competitive and stay relevant. The funny thing though is that Steem and Steemit are like a young Micheal Jordan or a young Kobe Bryant, and while some saw their great potential, others did not and were surprised later at their dominance.
Steem and Steemit are models of the future for blockchains and social media platforms. Those who are here now can take solace in knowing that they are part of the future, part of the raised bar and you are living “where the ball is going“.
Welcome to the future, where you can enjoy playing the game like no one else has played before, but they will in the future, because the Steemit model is where social media is headed.
