I read a post by @mindtrap just now that inspired me to write this post. His post was about Greece, but also about many other countries where the people share similar fates as wage slaves, with all work, very little play, with governments which are corrupt or incompetent or both. The people have very little to look forward to, and very little hope of escaping their cycle of subsistence living.... But then along came Bitcoin and the blockchain...and everything changed.
Steemit is a beacon of hope, the tribes are the second wave of such beacons for those who missed the chance to be a dolphin, orca or whale with Steemit, the chance exists now. And to many this not just a job, but a chance to do more then just profit a few Steem, but to change their life.

I am excited by what I see here on the platform. Many projects are focused on “On-boarding” new users and helping existing users is a prevalent theme when you look across communities on Steemit. Applications and Tribes are embracing old members and onboarding new members. A group called Steem On boarding is still hard at work making the transition from Facebook to Steemit easier. Wonderful technological advances like side chains, cross blockchain transactions, Hivemind, MIRA and other impressive software, hardware and other innovative blockchain strategies are being developed and deployed.

I came here not just for small profits, but a life changing opportunity, and to be a part of something bigger then myself. All the while quietly working to disconnect myself from the banking system, which extracts most of my income and leaves little for my labor. I am not just here for profit, but for life change. I power up, invest, delegate, curate, upvote, resteem, and give tips to others. This is not a finite pie, I can help you get yours and there is still enough for me.

Take a look at @mindtraps article above and feel renewed.
