Today is SPUD Day, an acronym for Steem Power Up Day. While technically the first of every month is Steem Power Up Day, January 1st has special meaning as the First Day of the nNew Year, and many feel it sets the tone for the rest of the year, as in whatever you do in January you will do or try to do, the rest of the year.
I have made a personal commitment to complete a SPUD every month and I think an additional Power Up for your Tribe is called for as well, so I am making January 1st my Steemleo Power Up Day, which could also use the acronym SPUD! Other acronyms using Leo or Steem Leo are LPUD or SLPUD are unpronounceable so I stuck to the first one SPUD.
I think Steem, Steemit, Steem Engine, and the DaPPs on Steem are going to have great years. The recent publicity for Steemit due to the Tron buyout rumor and then the YouTube Crypto purge with Steemit, 3Speak and D-Tube getting some Media attention were also very encouraging. I am hoping for a Thaw in the Altcoins Winter soon and a rise in price following what looks like a rise in utility of Steem.
I continue to be proud of all the Steemit development team improvements which brought Steemit Incs costs down for running the blockchain. I think Steem On boarding is getting easier, especially with the low price of Steem making it easier to get enough Resource Credits to post, curate and engage on the platform.
I continue to feel the Steemit community is a tenacious, loyal bunch that has weathered this bear market and the changes from the recent Hard Fork and the rough patches of New Steem. If I have learned anything in life, it is that change is the only constant. So we must adapt, change, and both survive and thrive.
Steem, Steemit and Steem Engine along with all the decentralized applications on the Steem blockchain are changing, evolving and becoming stronger and more viable as time passes.
