You should use the “photography” tag on all photography related posts, so you can earn PHOTO Tokens and so your posts appear on PhotoStreem the front end webpage for the tribe.
You are encouraged to be an active curator as well as poster to PHOTO.

The developers of this tribe feels curating is an important part of keeping our community involved and our content level high. So they have chosen for a 50% author and 50% curator split for all PHOTO earnings.

I have looked over the front end and so far I saw many high quality pictures. I also saw many upvotes. I see many people staking their tokens in their wallets. I see good sourcing of photos. I see some aggressive anti-spam and abuse efforts. I think these later Tribes are learning from the experiences of the older Tribes and are modifying things and policing things from the beginning.

Commentary
I believe that Photography is “one” of the biggest niches in Steemit, so it is possible, that this could become a very big tribe. As in all startups there is some risk for initial investors, but to paraphrase what the developer said on the introductory post. All new tribes are startups and it is up to the community to embrace the tribe and make it successful by posting, curating and upvoting their fellow tribe members to provide encouragement and promote retention. In a way, if you are an investor, you have some power over the fate of your investment by posting quality material and supporting other members of the tribe with upvotes.

I will let you in on a secret, with 50/50 split between authors and curators, it’s better NOT to upvote your own posts with one 100% vote, but instead use that same voting power to give two 50% votes or five 20% votes. In this upvote economy you will get more then you give and by doing so support the investment you made. I think it’s a win-win, you win and the community wins.
